The Emperor of All Maladies

[Siddhartha Mukherjee did an amazing job with this book. He masterfully weaves patient stories with the history of medicine - the history of medicine as it revolves around cancer more specifically.]{style="color: #000000;"}

The stories are captivating and moving describing key personalities in the public's awareness of cancer, the politics behind cancer, and the randomness and luck involved in cancer management and treatment.

This book can be read for pleasure or studied for historical context or social study. Lessons learned in years past will be helpful as we move forward in time with other diseases from prion diseases, viral like ebola, or even repeat pandemic flu variants.

I highly recommend reading this book, especially to anyone in the healthcare field.
