Life of Pi
Another masterpiece of fiction. I read this book because I just finished another fiction book and was motivated to continue, and it came recommended by a friend who I value her thoughts greatly.
This book was plain amazing - I thoroughly loved every page and could hardly put it down. The overall theme is humanity, its frailty, and its will to survive. A must read!
Here are some lines from the book that stood out to me:
- My greatest wish - other than salvation - was to have a book. A long book with a never-ending story. One I could read again and again, with new eyes and a fresh understanding each time. Alas, there was no scripture in the lifeboat. -pg207
- What a terrible thing it is to botch a farewell. ... It's important in life to conclude things properly. Only then can you let go. -pg285
