When tragedies strike:

Prayer isn't all we do, but it is the first thing we do.

The Beautitudes are the 8 core values on what it means to be a Christian

1. Forgiveness
2. Grieving

Verse:

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4

Notes:

In this verse, there is both:

• A promise of individual comfort from God
• A collective comfort from the community

You cannot get around grief, you have to go through it.

Think:

• They == y'all

During Bible times there were the same problems and issues as today.

For example:

• Pandemics
• Political turmoil
• War
• Inequality - gender, racial, etc

Questions:

• What are you grieving?
• Who are you grieving with?
